Why I Wish Aseprite Had a Color Wheel Like Photoshop's

As a long-time user of Aseprite, I have been more than satisfied with its performance and functionality for creating animations. However, there has always been one major feature that has kept me from switching to it as my main program: the color picker.

I started using Photoshop many years ago, and since then, I've grown accustomed to its intuitive interface and features. One of the things I love about Photoshop is its color wheel color picker. The ability to easily select a specific hue and adjust its brightness and saturation with just one click has been invaluable for my work.

In Aseprite, on the other hand, I find it difficult to navigate the full spectrum/color wheels to pick out the exact colors I need. While I've tried to get used to this layout, I haven't found it as natural or precise as Photoshop's color picker.

If Aseprite were to implement a similar color wheel color picker feature, I would switch to it in an instant. In fact, I would love to see an option to toggle between the current full spectrum/color wheels and a more traditional color wheel layout, much like how you can currently switch between the two in Photoshop.

Currently, I use Aseprite for animating my work, but I find myself having to export my color palette from another program, import it into Aseprite, animate it, then export it back to the other program for shading. This process is tedious and cumbersome, and I'm sure many others can relate to this frustration.

Fortunately, Aseprite does offer a Color Range feature that makes selecting colors within a designated range much easier. To access this feature, go to the General tab in your preferences and select HUD Color or press Ctrl + K as a shortcut.

Overall, Aseprite is a great program with many excellent features, but I believe that adding a color wheel color picker would take it to the next level of user-friendliness and efficiency.
